Statement
The work of art is the human spirit the function of which is to broaden and enrich it I work to develop my theme, to explore my relationships with life and others who inhabit and embrace it. I am drawn to the face for within it lies traces of life and emotion, thought and memory. Within this context I seek to find a sense of place and identity using drawing, printmaking and painting.

Influences
Pieter Brueghel - who creates a rich seam of narrative in landscape paintings
Ben Shahn - the graphic master and painter of profound style and moral content
Gerhard Richter - in particular his Oct 18 1977 photo like canvasses.
